Original Roots Music Las Vegas, Nevada
Although she now calls Las Vegas home, this Amerasian songstress was born and raised in Hawaii. She has captivated audiences with her voice since the tender age of three years old. Reiko started her music career by singing in church choirs and for parties and events. While in high school, she was part of the Hawaii Opera Youth Chorus, and the Hawaii All State High School Honor Choir. She represented her high school in Hawaii's own talent competition "Brown Bags to Stardom" in 1994. In 1999, Reiko, a dedicated songwriter, decided to move to Las Vegas to further her musical career. She signed a contract with an indie record label called "ButtaPhunk International" where she proceeded to record her album "Come with me". While with buttaPhunk, Reiko toured Las Vegas, performing at various venues and locations. Reiko has also recorded with an indie record label based out of Atlanta. Dreamsong Records and Double Edge productions are responsible for helping Reiko produce her massive EP; MOVE. In 2000, Reiko met up with a island/reggae band called Da Blend. She served as their only female vocalist, singing both lead and background parts. Da Blend exposed Reiko to reggae music and reminded her of her roots. Da Blend rocked the Las Vegas local music scene for 4 years. They played at local venues such as the House of Blues (opened for Jake Shimabukuro & Colon), The Frontier Hotel & Tropics Bar & Grill, Moon Doggies and at various corporate, public and private events. In 2004 Reiko joined forces with reggae cover band Liquid Roots. They were booked as the house band at The Saloon in Neonopolis from 2004-2006. Here she obtained her stage name Lady Reiko. Liquid Roots next performed every Friday night (with Lady Reiko) @ the Fiesta Rancho Casino in Club Tequila from 2006-2008. Lady Reiko is currently working on her first solo reggae project with Sin City Prophet Records. The upcoming album is due to launch in the spring of 2009.
